Infants

All parents are looking for a safe and secure place for their young children.  At Cuddlebugs Child Development Center, your children are loved and cared for in a nurturing and enriching way.  Throughout the day, we rely on communication, devoted teachers, individualized learning experiences, and a loving environment.  These allow us to care for your child’s needs and wants, and provide vast opportunities to learn.

Communication
No one knows your baby as well as you.  Cuddlebugs is committed to fostering a relationship with you that is built on trust and open communication.  As a parent in the Infant & Toddler programs you will receive daily feedback about your child's day.  We want you to feel comfortable sharing concerns and needs, so that we can help each other be the best we can be.

Devoted Teachers
Research has shown that a strong, secure attachment to a nurturing adult can have a protective biological function, helping a growing child withstand the ordinary stress of daily life. You will have peace of mind knowing that your child will have teachers who will build a loving relationship with him or her. Babies typically stay with their teachers for 12 - 16 months before moving to the toddler classroom. This allows plenty of time for bonds to be formed between the teachers and child.  We provide a maximum ratio of four to one in the infant class and a ratio of five to one in the toddler class to ensure there are many opportunities for one-on-one time with each child.

Individualized Learning Experiences
Teachers create lesson plans based upon our curriculum which was developed around the ideas of an Early Literacy program called 1,2,3 Read.  The Infant and Toddler curriculum promotes emotional, physical, and cognitive growth through themed activities based on books or nursery rhymes.  Your child's trained teachers design individual lesson plans specifically for your child that help them move toward their next developmental milestones.  Your baby will also be introduced to the basics of American Sign Language.  Periodic progress reports will give you the opportunity to evaluate your baby’s growth and progression, and to share in the joy as he or she reaches the next stage of development.

A Loving Environment
We truly believe your child will learn best in a loving environment.  We implement this philosophy into everything we do, from the materials in the classroom to loving interactions.
Daily schedules for our infants are based around the desires of the infant and the family. Each child has their own eating and sleeping schedule that allows for a minimum of 30 minutes of tummy time everyday for non-mobile infants. We check diapers every hour for each infant and change as needed. We also ensure that each infant goes outside at least once a day, weather permitting.  In our Infant program, your child will take his or her first steps down the path to a lifetime of learning.
As your toddler begins transitioning to one nap a day, we work on adjusting to our general school schedule.  Our teachers are aware that each child might have needs that change on a daily basis.  We never force a child to stay awake and we always have time to fit in an extra evening snack as needed.  We begin exposing children to the potty, but move at the child's pace.  The toddler teachers at Cuddlebugs spend our days promoting the toddler's blossoming independence and social skills, and fostering self-confidence.
